I'm entering in this drawing contest where the theme is "lyrical inspiration" but I'm having a hard time coming up with some good songs to sketch to. I'm looking for some song that when you think of them you just want to start belting them out (no matter how badly you sing) and which are just really fun to sing. Ideally I'd like either rock or pop rock or maybe some oldies. any suggestion??? (please nothing which is more pop than rock, I will not illustrate justin timberlake or britney spears, nor will I even consider any rap)

Thanks in advanced!

  1. shake-shake shake-shake-a-shake it!

    Shake It - Metro Station

    The Remedy! - Jason Mraz

    =) have fun

  2. I love to draw, paint, scribble or whatever...this may sound weird but Fleetwood Mac always puts me in a artistic mood, and every time the same songs always bring on something different, also Jane's Addiction, & Our Lady of Peace always gets my wheels turning, Primus is awesome too. That's about the most soft music that I listen to when I'm sketching or painting, after that it gets a lil  more heavy.

  3. I still find one of the most sing-along-able albums to be "Bona Drag" by Morrissey.

It's early-90's alternative rock.  Morrissey was the singer of a band called The Smiths, who were very popular in the U.K.  He still sells out his concerts.  A couple of the songs on this album have been covered by other artists as well.

His lyrics are pretty amazing and this album is quite the sing-along album once you get into it.

  4. ANYTHING Queen! Radio GaGa and all their really jumpy songs are great!

  5. Fortunate Son - CCR (OK Just about any ccr would work )

  6. piano man by billy joel? i always sing along to that one haha, its not pop rock i know but its an oldie so yeah

  7. friend like that - hawk nelson

    unbreakable - fireflight

  8. i have few options for u hope u like it:

    1. smooth - rob thomas

    2. heaven - los lonely boys

    3. sing - travis

    4. dancing queen - abba

  11. THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY" by Pink Floyd

  12. i kissed a girl- katy perry

so many people have covered it its ridiculous

  13. PARADISE CITY BY GUNS 'N ROSES

"TAKE ME DOWN TO THE PARADISE CITY WHERE THE GRASS IS GREEN AND THE GIRLS ARE PRETTY!!!"

    or how bout these:

    blitzkrieg bop by the ramones

world wide suicide by pearl jam

garden of eden by guns 'n roses (even though axl sings at the speed of light in that song)

roots radicals by rancid (very fun song! i love playin it on guitar!!!)

dude looks like a lady by aerosmith

    wrong way by sublime

saw red by sublime (ft. gwen stefani...not pop star gwen, ska queen gwen.)

  14. hmmm...lyrical inspiration to me is songs that either would get a crowd singing or make you personally have to belt it out ....

heres my suggestions[take them or leave them]

    everything i do -bryan adams

    bohemian rhapsody-queen

the man who sold the world -david bowie

    you know your right -nirvana

    pump it up-elvis costello

    jeremy-pearl jam

    janies got a gun-aerosmith

i'd do anything [but i wont do that] -meatloaf

the timewarp-from rocky horror picture show

the drugs dont work -the verve

    no suprises- radiohead

    black hole sun -soundgarden

    stone temple pilots -sour girl

    evanescence -bring me to life

frankly there is a never ending of feel good songs ,sing along songs and poetic songs ....gave a few of each in mainly rock/grunge /alternative and some classic pop .

try and see the clips ,but when you listen to them [if you do] listen to the riffs and the lyrics ....that is why they are classics .

    goodluck
