  1. I don't know if the activities you need are for yourself, or for kids, so I will give you a little for everyone.

We often took long road trips when we were kids and some of the things we did included coloring, small travel board games (the magnetic kind), and games like license plates. Reading was kind of hard to do in the car, as it usually gave me headaches or a queasy feeling kind of like sea sickness.

You can have a lot of fun with license plate games and you can make up the rules or change them as you go along.

Some of the games we played included finding all the states (print out a simple map or make a list of all the states so they can cross them out as they go) or getting all the letters in the alphabet from the plates (this can be kind of hard because some letters aren't found frequently - like I or Q). Also, try to figure out the meaning of any personalized or vanity plates. The person who finds the most of anything is the winner.

For adults, I would recommend plenty of your favorite music, or even an audio book, if you enjoy those. Music and audio books would even be fine for kids, but choose something appropriate. For an audio book I would recommend something like one of the Harry Potter books - they are quite long and will probably last long enough to complete your trip and are quite entertaining.

Be careful with the whiteboard markers, as they might give off a chemical odor - make sure you keep a window cracked if they do give off odor.

Remember to bring plenty of snacks and drinks inside the car with you - things like gum, crackers, cookies, juice boxes, water and chips - just not anything chocolate or too sugary. Also don't forget to pack wet wipes or a couple wet wash cloths packed in ziptop bags. These will help you keep clean as well as being refreshing.

  2. See the "entertainment on the road" article in the link below; there are lots of fun games, and music will often create a great atmosphere (especially when everyone sings along). Surroundings will prove to keep you entertained too, and you can play some nice games with a whiteboard, such as drawing a chess, checkers, battleship or mastermind board.

    Have fun on your trip!

  3. Put some music on your phone or mp3, I always the trip seems to speed up when ur listning to songs.

Also you could get drunk :D but thats just me lol

  4. scrape up roadkill.
