Fun things to do at a party?

I'm having a high school graduation party for my friends only in a few weeks. Kind of late, I know. But its like the week before everyone leaves so I picked that date.

I'm going to have a lot of food. Pizza, funnel cakes (hopefully), chicken on a stick, lots of chips and pretzels.

I have a pool, but most of my yard is going to be filled with tables and chairs, so I can't set up a beach volleyball net or something.

Would playing poker with chips in your school colors be fun?

They could play real poker if they wanted to, but if they sat at that table they could also just play for fun with chips.

I also have a Wii, but only two remotes. So I'm going to hook that up to my big screen in the living room which has a door to outside. I'm going to put in Wii play since that's only 2 players.

I have a lot of board games, which I play with my friends a lot, but IDK if that would be fun at a grad party.

I need some other ideas though. There's no theme. Just our school colors.

  1. Well, the poker is a cute idea.  Have beach balls people could toss around. Or other balls.  Usually you have a Cake whether is birthday or GRADUATION(in this case).  Water gun funs are never out of style.  Pizza.  Have cool decorations too.  Have races.  Go in the pool, just go in seven at a time. Get silly string to spray.  If you will have cheerleaders there do some cheers.  Dance- offs.  'Relay' races. Jumping rope contest.  Hula Hoop contest.  Water ballon fight.  Dodgeball with a softer ball.  Dance.  RANDOM DANCE TIMES. Catch.  Or maybe Im wrong...

  2. If it is a pool party go in the pool and play games under water. You can have races too. Thats what I would do.

  3. watch you stuff make sure it doesn't get lost! have loud music.. no board games (YOUR TOO OLD!) just hang out in the pool

  4. Well it depends on how many people are gonna be there. This sounds like a lot of the parties I used to go to in high school and surprisingly, it didn't change much my first year of college (only difference was the addition of alcohol). Anyway, parties like the one you have are usually the most fun, people tend to get bored when they all sit around and do one activity. Some people can play poker, some can play your wii, some can go swimming, let them do whatever and those are the parties that I've noticed people have the most fun in. Have fun!

  5. Not sure what your friends are interested in, but I did karaoke for my 16th birthday (many years ago).  It was silly, but we had a blast.  Water balloons might also be fun.  Your poker and Wii ideas sounded cool too.  Having access to all these things would be good, depending on the size of your party.  Oh yeah, a game to see who knows you best would also be good since it's your party.  Type out 10 questions pertaining to stuff about you (birthday, favorite ice cream, whatever).  Print out enough copies for everyone to fill out at their leisure during the event and the winner gets a day/date with you.  Hope this helps.
