Fun things to do in Ireland?

I am going to Dublin and northern Ireland for a school trip, does anyone know of any fun things to do in that area? Because we get some free time every day while we're there.

As it's a school trip, I wonder if I ought to encourage you to try the Musical Pub Crawl??  However - do go to Temple Bar for the craic (ambience/atmosphere), see what's on at the national film theatre (they have a good cafe if you're there at lunchtime) and if you're into history, there used to be an Easter 1916 walking tour - maybe still is.

If the weather's good, walk on the quays with your friends - it's a good place for photos.
