Fun things to do in San Clemente, CA?

Question

Like, are there any specific shopping areas that are nice to walk around in? Or interesting places to visit?

We're thinking of going for a visit, but we want

to know what there is to do first?

Go to all the Skate Parks there. You might see Ryan Sheckler :)

Go to the beach or you can visit the mission and the Reagan museum. There are plenty of shops to walk along the beach also.

First, I feel compelled to point out that the Ronald Reagan museum is not in San Clemente.  It's in Simi Valley, so plan on a 2+ hour drive to get there if you really want to visit it.

The great thing about San Clemente is that it maintains an older, small town feel, even though it is part of the Orange  County concrete jungle.  Avenida Del Mar is the main drag - and there are tons of boutiques, antique shops, and restaurants to visit.  Small mom and pop stores are what it is all about; no chain stores!

Every Sunday is the farmers market on Del Mar, lots of good local vendors there.

Visit the Pier and our beautiful beaches, you can sit at the Fisherman restaurant and enjoy a bucket of clams as you watch the sun set (great mud pie there!).  

Park your car near the southern edge of town and hike down to the world famous Trestles beach to watch some world class surfers.

There are several nice art galleries in town, and if you can stay for dinner, you have to check out Iva Lee's - amazing food in a 5-star restaurant, and excellent music!

There are some amazing food places. If you're interested in Mexican Food Pedro's Tacos is the place to go - only 2 in the world -  the sugar shack is a great breakfast place. the sunrise cafe is amazing! there are some great shopping places dowtown on Del Mar.

All Around, San Clemente is a great place
