  1. When I was younger my parents used to play the alphabet game with the family.  You can use road signs, license plates, etc.  start with the letter A and the first to get to Z wins.  and noone can use the letter from the same thing  example:  the word zebra:  only one can use the letter z.  I know we had a blast tryint to beat each other back then, but with all the technology nowadays the kids might think they're too "old" to play.  Try it, its fun and the time passes before you know it.  Good luck!

  2. Well, im a kid and I know whats fun... but Im 14, that still counts right? Well, one thing would be to eat if you passed by eating time, play games while driving on the road and if they have any handheld consoles, they should bring it but tell them not to waste the battery, I know... since I played 4 hours non-stop while we were on the road. You could also tell jokes to keep them entertained, but not the lame ones. And also, no fights while on the road, bad things happen if people gets mad with each other. First, Anger then confusion, then more anger. But you should also try your own techniques if you have.

  3. well, I'm 13 and what my parents do usually with me is play a word game. It's fun, builds your vocabulary, and helps you spell better. Make up your own for a fun twist!

  4. Bring non parishable snacks like chips or cheetos or something like that and drinks like capri suns or any juice pouch/box. If they have a Nintendo DS or psp or something like that have them bring that. Or here are some game ideas.

    real books!

Archie comics (still the same, still popular)

activity kits by the creative Klutz Press, such as Glove Compartment Games

blank paper, for playing Hangman and Xs & Os

    regular deck of cards

travel-size Monopoly, Sorry, Snakes'n' Ladders, Battleships

    Speak'n'Spell

    miniature chess

Mastermind: a great game for age seven and up-- travel-size available

card sets (such as medieval-style "Magic-- The Gathering" IF kids are into this)

small Lego sets (--bring Ziploc bag to store the pieces)

hand-held toys with the sound turned off

    small 3D puzzle sets

    BrainQuest

Also for older kids: visit a good kids' bookstore and check out the non-book items for the latest card-based games or puzzle games that are perfect to tote along on a trip.

And in the wired/ electronic amusement department:

DVD players: allow kids to watch a show they'll enjoy, no matter what the in-flight movie selection is

    iPods, CD players (of course)

check out my source site listed below too.

  5. Well, I'm 14 so I would say the most fun thing would be to bring a llot of music- never play one song over again. I'd also suggest having your kids pick out a book to reat at the library before you go.
