  1. Just warning you, Seville will be extrmely HOT in August. A nice day trip form Seville is to the Town of Ronda, had a spectacular location and small Moorish place that is now a musuem. Also interesting are the ruins of the Roman City of Italica just outside Seville

  2. Malaga is not that interesting overall...Marbella which is just down the highway from Malaga (going west) is more lively, especially at night. Apart from Ronda (cool aquaduct), you should check out the famous white towns of Andalucia, especially Casares - and actually at the time you'll be there, they have a very nice local fiesta. There is also Mijas that offers great views and good buys for leather products. And if you want good food, just a little east of Marbella, there is the town of Benahavis which is made up only of restaurants - huge portions, excellent quality and great entertainment!

But my recommendation is to hit the three amigos in Andalucia - Cordoba, Granada and Seville. To see the Alhambra, I suggest you make arrangements to get tickets a day before you actually go...sometimes it gets pretty crowded and you'll end up wasting time in line ups...if I remember, you can go to a local travel agent in Malaga or anywhere along the Costa del Sol (most will speak English) and arrange to get the tickets. Cordoba has the Mezquita which is another amazing structure - a church within a synogogue, within a mosque...there are also a few markets spread out through the town. Seville has the Real Alcazar, La Giralda, and the Plaza Espana (site of the 1932 World Fair) along with many gardens and parks - If you go to Seville, make sure that you take the hop-on, hop-off tour - really informative and convenient. There is also water and amusment park (you'll go buy it on the tour - can hop-off there) and Seville has some of the best tapas.

Enjoy your trip. Viva Espana :)
