Fun things to do with the family on a low /no budget?

Question

I am not working and hoping to find something soon but in the mean time I want to do things with the family before the summer is over. I may qualify for unemployment and if so I may have a small amount of funds.

i am a single parent and am very limited on funds. Kids always have a good time at the beach. Usually only costs a couple bucks for the entrance fee to the park. Not Only do they enjoy playing in the water but they love playing in the sand so i always bring sand toys. I also like taking my kids on walks through nature trails at the park. Usually I make a list of things for them to find(a green leaf, a wild flower, pinecone, a stick shaped like a y, a manmade object, a leaf any color but green...) and we have a scavenger hunt. We then make a collage with all the things they find. Making tye-dye shirts is another thing we did this summer. The dyes only cost like 2 bucks each and i usually only get the primary colors red, yellow, and blue. My son loves fishing. U can get a pole for under  15 bucks and a dozen worms is only a couple bucks. hope this helps. I know how hard it is to be limited on funds.

If you live in an apartment with no pool or playground, a day in the park is always fun!  Just pack a picnic lunch (and plenty of water if it is hot out), take a Frisbee, basket ball, whatever - - yawl will have a great time!  See ya there!
