Fun things to make? such as clay/dough/putty that is like baking but not to eat?

im bored and i want to make something that can entertain me. any ideas? preferably something i can bake or make like food (like how you mix food ingredients to make clay) thanks and sorry if my question is really confusing lol

I had a recipe at my house somewhere for home-made clay using flour and glue(?). I can't say for sure, since I lost the book...

The two most common food-based clays that are made at home are salt dough clay and bread clay.  (You can shape any food or combo of foods that you want though --cookie dough or regular bread doughs, mashed potatoes or yams, bananas, spinach, whatever!...)

Salt dough and bread clay are actually quite versatile though, and can be painted over after drying with acrylic paints, or the color can be built into the dough bits while still raw (before shaping) with acrylic paints if you want.  

If you don't paint completely over the item with acrylic paint though, you'll need to seal it after it dries (overnight, etc) or it won't be waterproof and humidity proof... the sealer can be something as simple as permanent white glue (Elmers GlueAll, tacky glue, etc.) thinned 3 or 4 to one with water, which will dry clear and glossy.
