Pretend the x-coordinate of A is n, h(n) = the length of AB is 4-n^2

What would h(n) be if f(x) went up to 7 and g(x) moved 3 to the left?

  1. Okay, we're given that f(x) is being moved up to 7 (i.e. it is being moved up by 3 units).  We are also given that g(x) is being moved 3 units to the left, therefore, the new equation is g(x) = (x + 3)².

    So your new equation is:

    h(n) = 7 - (n + 3)²

    Hope this helps!
