  1. Get child support from a parent.  If that is not possible apply for some kind of aid from your local Social Services department.  If the parents are dead or disabled, I think they can get some kind of social security.  Apply for aid for the kids for medical, dental and so forth.  Contact the school because they have subsidized lunch programs.  See if you or even just the kids are eligible for food stamps.  Ask the school if the kids are eligible for school supplies.  Call the city you live in and ask them for a list of resources and ask the school too.  Hope that helps.

  2. There ARE organizations that can help

Contact your local social service agency and ask them who to contact.  There are also agencies online.  Just type in "aid for grandparents "  and see what links come up.  good luck to you.. ♥

  3. Hmmm..... I know that Medicaid will help.  Try Wic too.  Also, the Social Security office should be able to direct you to organizations that will help you out.  Depending on your circumstances, you should be able to contact your local family welfare agency too.  I wish you the best of luck.  I'm trying to help my granddaughter too along with my son and daughter in law.  No, it isn't easy!  I share your feelings!  *hugs* to you.

  4. talk to the people at the social security assn. and at the department for families and children the children should be on medicaid and may be entitled to ss benefits from yours also there is food stamps and section 8 for housing you may be entitled to help with keeping up the house through a day nurse program.

  5. Contact your city Department of Human Services.  They will have information on their funding programs and should also be able to link you up with local nonprofit organizations that can help.
