Funding overdue college balance?

i am now eligible for financial aid after changing my nationality. However, i have an outstanding balance at my old school that i cant afford to pay. This is the same school i plan to attend. How do i pay this debt and finish my Degree? my credit is score is not too good. The aid that i qualify for cant go towards this?? thats what the school says.

you could try applying for a loan at your bank. i know that you said that you dont have the best credit but if you have been in good standing with them, they may be able to help you out.

sometimes when you receive loans and grants you can receive the maximum amount.  if there is any money left off, that money will be owed to you.  you can at least pay on the balance due with that money.  i know of alot of fellow college friends that survived off that extra money from loans and grants.  we called them "refund checks".
