Question:

Fundraising Ideas for an educational opportunity?

I am invited to go on an educational trip to Australia but my family can't pay for it all. My parents offered $1,500 and I need $5,000. I have a guaranteed other $1,000 from my grandparents, but what else can I do? Please don't say bake-sales, because I burn everything I touch.

  1. Our school raised $5,000 by putting together a cookbook.  Perhaps you could put together plenty of family recipes to complete a small cookbook, print 1,000 copies, and sell them for $5 each.  You can probably even print them with your computer and save on your overhead.   Have your friends, classmates, and family members help you sell them at work and in their neighborhoods.  Let everyone know it's a fundraiser, and you'll find most willing to help.  It's better than just asking for donations... you at least are giving them something.

  2. I work with a company that can help you set up fundraisers for any project you might have. One of the best to use is a web based promo offer fundraiser that costs you nothing to set up and use, you just need to promote your project with emails and flyers to those who might want to help you and get a great deal on things like Netflix, blockbuster, As Seen On TV items, and the like.
