  1. You could organize a neighborhood garage sale where a portion (25% or more) or the sales are donated to the foundation.  Just hand out fliers door to door and see how many neighbors would be interested in having garage sales on the same Saturday morning.  People are more likely to attend a neighborhood-wide garage sale.  After the sale is over, have a place where people can mail checks -- or go door to door to pick up the proceeds.

You might also organize a fun run.  You would charge an entry fee and have t-shirts made for everyone who participates.  If you check with your local park district, they might help you.

  2. Have a bottle drive in your neighborhood. Get a local grocery store to donate some plastic bags to you, write a letter to your neighbors and staple it to the bag. Pass the bags out to your neighbors and go and pick them up in a week. I did this to raise some starting money for a bigger fundraiser. I did one street in my neighborhood and made $200, in October. Imagine how much money you could make in the summer. Give I would suggest picking up the bottles after Labor Day weekend and all the BBQs that happen that weekend. Good Luck. Let me know if you have any other logistical questions about the bottle drive.

  3. Hi,there.

There are so many good fundraisers. My favorite is phantom tea. You send out letter to members of an organization. You invite them to a phantom tea. What that means is that on a certain day at a certain time you are inviting them to have tea and think about the foundation the you are having the tea for. The catch is that they do not have to attend. The mail you their contribution. You then send them a decorated tea bag, thank you note and a brochure about the foundation. They can sit and enjoy their cup of tea from work or from home.

I have been being doing these for several years and they work. We have raised money for scholarships and special programs.

We have had people send us pictures of where they enjoyed their tea.

    Hope you like this idea?

    best,
