Fundraising!?

Question

My friend is doin a course in fashion...

as a requiurement the school is going on a trip to tokyo!

i am trying to help her with ideas for raising money, but i also want to try a find an organisation that may help sponser their trip... does anyone know of any that could me out?

also how would you get a well know magazine such as dolly or girlfriend to put an ad in there mag?

PLEASE LET ME KNOW GUYS!!!

as i wanna help her soooo much!!!

If you want companies to sponsor all or part of the trip, you have to ask them.  Write a letter explaining the need for the sponsorship, and the benefits to the company to provide such sponsorship..  If you can't think of any reasons a company would benefit from or want to sponsor your friend, then dont' bother asking.  Once you have your request prepared, you can send it to the marketing or promotions department of companies that have some connection to relevant industries, such as fashion, design, teenagers, japan, etc.  Follow up your letter with a phone call in about two weeks. to find out if they are considering your request..  However, be advised that this is extremely time-consuming and has only a limited chance of success.  

If you want a magazine to run an ad, it's very easy --- if you pay for it.  However, very few if any magazines are willing to run free ads as it is one of their major sources of revenue.  But if you want to know for sure, you need to contact the magazine, and ask.
