Fundraising rules?

We want to fundraise in our town by dressing up and giving out hugs for donations, do you know if we have to inform the council or anything? or can we just do it as we will have the registered charity number for the charity on all of our tshirts and bucket and stuff. Anybody know the rules and regulations?

  1. You can do it but you have to pay the taxes, etc. That is all that you have to watch. Fundraise where ever you want to.

Did you ever read "Asking" it is a book on Fundraising it is a great one and since I read that book I have raised over 3 million US dollars with a few other friends. I must say they are way better then me but we all did it and we all read that book and no one had done any fundraising before. Try it out!

  2. I think that you would have to inform the local council and ask or their permission, i don't see that there would be a problem with it but its best to cover your backs. I run an organisation which I am trying to raise enough money to turn it into a charity, when we did fund raising in the UK I had to inform the council and local police, both were fine with us doing so.

Good luck and keep up the good work for charity!
