  1. wnd beneath my wings, hero

  2. You may want to find out if there was any particular musician or song that he really enjoyed.  I would suggest choosing an uplifting song, considering a funeral is a time for healing where people have a chance to say goodbye, and make peace.

Personally, I think funerals should be a celebration of the person's life.  "What A Wonderful World" - by Louis Armstrong is a song I've heard at a couple of funerals, including my Dad's.  It made me think of the good full life that he had and whenever I hear it now  -  I smile.

You should try to pick a song that fits his personality.  If you google "funeral songs", there are a lot of websites that list the popular ones, some include lyrics and listen to a minute sample of the song..

Sorry for your loss and good luck in choosing a song for your Grandad.

  3. In the Garden is the most beautiful song. It is a christian song.  It was my grandma's favorite and we had someone sing it at her funeral.

  4. How about "brown boots" It is an old cockney song about a man who turned up at his best friends wedding despite the fact he couldn't afford the proper funereal gear .Quite moving and a song that says a good heart is better than "show"

  5. There is a website that has a collection of almost 600 songs that can be used as funeral music or memorial music.  Visitors to the site can listen to the songs, but you must purchase them elsewhere (such as at iTunes).  The Memorial Music Library is a wonderful resource for picking out funeral music.  You'll find it at http://www.memorialmusiclibrary.com/
