Question:

Funky Upscale Restaurants In London?

by  |  earlier

0 LIKES UnLike

I am just looking for some names, locations and descriptions of very unique upscale dining experiences in Central London. I am not interested in the mainstream french restaurants, (ie. Gordon Ramsey) - I am looking for something funky, upscale, with exemplary food. Names of chefs, places, areas,... anything in central! I am new to London and am not yet familiar with the whole dining scene.

Thanks,

Marko

  2. Try Momos in Heddon Street just behind Regents street. Its Morrocan and delightful. They have a cafe and a restaurant. The cafe is amazing, you sit on cushions and order plates of small dishes and sweet teas. The restaurant is fancy and not too expensive. Try it you'll love it.

Bali Bali in Shaftesbury avenue serves authentic balinese cuisine to a very high standard, for good chinese I go to the mandarin palace in gants hill, in the east london suburbs and in this area nearby in Ilford you will find excellent Indian restaurants, pakwaan and sri rathiga to name 2 of the best. For kebabs go to bosphoros in the Old Brompton Road not upscale, possibly funky but with exemplary food!

  4. Try the New World in china town (near Leicester Square underground). Lunch times they serve a magnificent feast of Dim Sum which is all freshly cooked and delicious. However, there is no need to order from the menu, a huge variety of delights constantly pass your table on trolleys! Simply ask the polite help full staff whats in the steamed baskets and they will instantly serve you. It`s superb food, at very reasonable prices, and a brilliant fun concept in eating!
