Funny, yet disgusting and serious question?

I am babysitting a friends boy child today. He's 5. He peed in the bathroom and didn't flush and didn't close the door. My 1 year old daughter was playing with my soup ladle (it keeps her happy when I am doing dishes ladles, wire whisks, and odd kitchen utensil's) ANYWAY I was doing dishes and I hear her laughing and I hear SPLASHING.... she was playing in the toilet water with the Ladle. Now if some of the pee water were to accidentally get drunk is this a bad thing? I don't think she got any in her mouth but I don't know cause it was on her clothes. Should I call the doctor? shes not going to get dysentery? Am I paranoid. I am grossed out and slightly amused. I would be more amused if it hadn't been pee water.

  1. Chill-Out Mom she's fine! As long as your toilet is even fairly clean you don't need to worry.

  2. LOL...your daughter will be fine.  Yes it's absolutely disgusting...I go through this atleast once a week.  My two year old is potty training...and forgets to shut the door and flush sometimes...so my one year old goes and splashes in the toilet like he's in the bathtub.  I freak out!  I don't think she could have drank anything in a big quanity to the point it could harm her!  Just give her a quick bath, and some juice, and hope you don't have to go through it again!

  3. she should be fine but if it makes you feel better give your ped. a call to see what they say

my two year old son has eaten dirt, grass and stuck his hand in his diaper and put p**p in his mouth and is still alive lol

  4. ok now that is disgusting and just call the doctor just in case and you should tell the 5 year old to tell him to flush and close the door when he goes and also tellhim that you got eyes on the back of your head ( 5 year olds will believe anything these days).

  5. I think you should see your pediatrician. Drinking urine can't be a good thing. It might not have any affect but you don't want to take that chance. You should see an expert.

  6. Don't worry about it.  I'm sure she is fine.  What worries me is that you actually scrub your toilet almost daily.  I don't know if that's extra motivated or just plain strange and over the top.

  7. like they say S**t happens, if she did get some in her mouth at least you should know the urine is sterile, although its rather gross, rinse her mouth out and forget about it, if you have a clean toilet she shouldn't get sick or anything, my 15 month old daughter has once in a while played with the toilet water not something i approve of but i just washed her hands and bathed her and told her no no
