What are the round spiky things with swirls found in ramen? Could they be onions?

  2. I'm pretty sure that it's called Naruto. I see them all the time in ramen recipes. =)

  3. Not sure about the spikes, but is it round, white w/pink swirl?  I've seen thin disks of this in instant ramen.  It's fish cake (Kamaboko) and used to eat it a lot when I lived in Japan!
