Funny Lari and Moany Tony joint favourites for May Dash Dup
Funny Lari and Moany Tony are set to lock horns in the May Dash Dup at Henlow in England on Thursday, May 17, 2012. The triumphant greyhound will be given a cash prize of £150 in the end.
A total of six quality runners will be seen in action over the 277 metres Grade OR event, which is scheduled to start at 20:00 GMT. Their names are as follows: Funny Lari, Moany Tony, Shilohs Warrior, Ballymac Phoenix, Ceroc Swift and War Horse.
Out of the above mentioned runners, the bookies believe that Funny Lari and Moany Tony will give a tough time to each other. However, the punters might risk more bets in favour of the former hound, who appears to be in better shape at the moment.
Funny Lari has been running quite regularly in this class and his performances have been pretty much impressive. He has not dropped out of the top three in his last three Grade OR events, which shows that he regularly fights for victories.
The S. Cahill’s trainee finished runner up in his most recent run, which shows that he is carrying a decent momentum right now. He was not rated as favourite back then, but was expected to challenge his main rival for the top position.
However, the black dog was unable to come anywhere closer to the race winner and finished way behind him in the end. He will need a stronger effort in order to prevail at Henlow today.
Funny Lari is the son of Droopys Scolari out of Sky Beauty and was born in October 2009.
On the other hand, Moany Tony is also expected to fight at the front in the race, as he is a quality runner. His performances at different venues have been good, but he will need to be extremely quick in order to outperform his opponents.
In his most recent outing, the H. Dimmock’s trained hound finished runner up by just a neck distance. He was not given the best odds back then, but still managed to cause a few problems for the race winner.
Moany Tony is the son of Eskimo Jack out of Buzz Lamars and was born in February 2010.
