Funny Lari likely to dominate the Romforddogs.com Sprint
Funny Lari has been given the best odds for winning Romforddogs.com Sprint at Romford in England on Friday, March 9, 2012. The winning greyhound will be awarded with cash prize of £175.
The Grade OR event, which is scheduled to start at 19:31 GMT, has a total distance of 225 metres. Six entries confirmed for the flat race are: Funny Lari, Blonde Carlos, Droopys Pharaoh, Slick Shane, Moany Tony and Droopys Zino.
The bookmakers expect Funny Lari to dominate proceedings at Romford, as he seems to like the venue. He has earned two consecutive victories here and has very good chances of completing a hat-trick.
K. O'Flaherty’s trainee was not the favourite to win last time around at Romford, but he made a solid impression, winning by more than a length. He got off to a fabulous start in that race and kept on increasing his speed towards the end. The shorter distance
of the race worked in his favour, as he did not allow anyone else to come closer.
The punters will be expecting a similar performance from Funny Lari today as well and will be looking forward to place the maximum number of bets on his victory. The black dog is the son of Droopys Scolari out of Sky Beauty and was born in October 2009.
If any other hound manages to win today, it will be Blonde Carlos, trained by M. Dennis. He is a very good runner and has earned three victories out of his previous five outings. However, he finished third in his last appearance, which was the same race
that Funny Lari won.
Considering the outcome of his last race at Romford, Blonde Carlos lost the favour of the bookmakers. However, he has the potential to bounce back strongly today. He is the son of Blonde Jet out of Blonde Diamond and was born in April 2009.
Droopys Pharaoh, trained by D. Mullins, has mostly been running in the 400 metre races recently. He might like racing at Romford today, as the shorter distance can work out in his favour.
The brindle dog is the son of Timor Blue out of Droopys Lotto and was born in November 2009.
Slick Shane, Moany Tony and Droopys Zino do not seem to be in good shape at the moment and they will find it hard to win at Romford today.
