Funny or odd thing that you remember about a grandparent from when you were a kid?

One of my grandfathers lived way out in the country, and when the grandkids were small, he would take us to this old country store that was out in the middle of the woods somewhere. He called it the Peanut Shack, and he would buy each of us one of the small glass bottle Cokes and a pack of Planter's salted peanuts. Then, we would all copy him by pouring part of the salted peanuts into the Coke...(obviously long before current health consciousness.)

Lol, the scary thing is, although it's rare, occasionally, I still do this- and it's good.

Interesting how the mind works - I have to think that this would be disgusting if I had not tasted it when I was a kid.:p

  1. I used to visit my grandma's farm in Georgia before she died. We had to use a well for water, since there was no running water, LOL!


  2. i grew in rural ga. when i hit puberty i got a little wild so my mom sent

    me 2 grandma house in a small city, that's where my true personality

    developed & i became who i am know. there r so many little things i can't begin 2 recall all of them. the travel is the one that sticks out the most.
