Funny stories about a move to Texas or a move to where it snows.?

I received a couple of letters about people who moved to Texas and thought it was the best thing...until they felt the Texas heat and then they hated Texas. Also about moving to where it snows and how they loved the snow in the beginning but after weeks of snow they hate it. Does anyone know where I may get such stories?

  1. Email somebody in the mid-west. Here, I live in Arizona where it's literally 103 degrees out every day. And 120 degrees if we're lucky!! (ugh...) And we go up to Illinois and Ohio and LOVE IT. Yet, people from Ohio and Rockford come down here to Arizona and they are all like, "I love it down here! I love the warm! Yay!" then we look at them like we just got a small pole with a spider on the tip up our asses.

  2. I am a native Texan, but lived in the San Fransico bay area for some time.

The heat in Texas ain't that bad....what is a good thing is that at night it is still warm, which means that you don't have to bundle up during the summer to go out to dinner (like you do in many dry climates...like the southwest and california).

The key to staying cool here in the summer is to frequent bodies of water, creeks, and rivers. In west Texas it is aweful...much like that of the desert southwest. However, central-to-east Texas gets plenty of rainfal...so much that there are typically many streams and lakes that are full. If you decide to come to Texas, I recommend living here in Austin. I typically take my dog to the rivers/lakes/creeks about 3-4 times a week here. We also have 7 lakes to choose from...so you always have a friend that has a boat/lake house.

  3. i'd google Snow Stories or something.
