The other night my dh and I were discussing our game plan for TTC. It has been a year now and I have to undergo surgery for cysts, possible endo, and get my tubes flushed. So I told him that I thought since I was going through all this testing he should get his swimmers tested so we can have a 100 degree veiw of what we are up against. Reluctantly he looked at me and said, "well okay I guess I need to get tested, but I am really not excited about the way they go about getting the sample". I said, "how do you think they take the sample hon? It isn't THAT bad". Real embarassed he said, "well they have to stick there finger in butt and milk my prostate". LOL. I FEEL on the floor laughing. I exclaimed "where did you hear that?". He said, "I don't know, I just thought that was how they did it." He was THRILLED when I told him that "we" could take care of it. LOL. So any ladies having trouble getting there DH to test, tell them this story. Anyone have a funny story to share?

  1. oh boy! thanks for the laughter... i needed it! too funny :)

  2. My DH never complained, except about the p**n they had in the room.  He said it was not that great!  lol!  ;)

  3. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Once we are all happily pregnant and spending several hours each month with our feet up in stirrups, we can remember your funny story and it will make us all feel better about looking dumb with our legs in the air :)

  4. Hubby just went to have his s***n analysis Friday.

I joked that they would milk the prostate  for him.

(thats the funniest part of the movie Roadtrip when he gets help from the nurse to give his sample)

anyway, I was just joking and then this huge monstrous body building guy stepped out of the back into the lab waiting room with latex gloves pulled up to his elbows

I was all.... "hey honey that guy is ready to milk your prostate"

  5. My husband complained very loudly about it until he saw what I went through every month- then he stopped complaining.

We had to do his sample for our IUI at the doctors office, and they let me go back with him to "help"- I felt so funny coming out of that room with the sample in my hand! I could understand a little why he was so reluctant to do it. Of course, when they washed the sample and showed it to us on the microscope, he was very proud of his "excellent" sample.

  6. Yeah, my DH was a bit of a whiner when it came to contributing his "sample" for testing and later for in-vitro.  We had to have a conversation about the fairness of him having to "donate" in a cup a few times vs. me having to give myself shots every day for 45 days, have blood drawn 2x per week, track 3 different meds each day, have surgery to have my eggs harvested, then have them transfered into my uterus and carry them for 9 months and go through the delivery process.  Once he really understood how out of balance the whole process is, he was much more understanding and sympathetic!

  7. Lol! Classic!

I have one to share. I was getting ready to do my egg retrieval for IVF. My DH had to abstain for 3 to 5 days before the retrieval. I was counting days and hours and fretting and worrying about the best time we could "take care" of him before he abstains. Well, when I figured it out it was time to "take care" of him, I went to find him and said "Honey, it's time to take care of you." He looked at me and said "I already did."

  8. Not as good as your story!!!!  ROFLMAO!!!

  9. that is funny
