Funworld Boy to reinstate by winning the Betfred Maiden Sprint Trophy at Nottingham on 2nd April
Nottingham is to become home for Betfred Maiden Sprint Trophy over 305 metres on 2nd April. The prize money for the race is £150 and it is being contested by:
Edgars Champ,
Funworld Boy,
Noelles Hero,
Rush Of Blood,
Nine Below Zero, and
Ballymac Gain.
The most accomplished and competitive hound on the field is Funworld Boy, Droopys Vieri three-year-old blue and white son out of b***h, Marlfield Lucy.
He cracked into the season by winning a 400 yards' race on 6th January by clocking the track distance in 21.48 seconds with 2 ¾ lengths under belt. Pursuing right behind the winner and thus finishing as the runner up was Maytown Ruler.
Not being able to bag the next start, Funworld Boy ended third in a 334 yards race on 4th February. Being entered as the evening’s favourite did not help much.
The three-year-old was drilled twice at Monmore, each time over a different distance.
On 9th March, Funworld Boy practiced through 264 metres in 15.72 seconds and then on 13th March he mastered the 416 metres distance in 25.35 seconds.
As was expected after the drills, Funworld Boy won a 264 metres race at Monmore on 20th March by timing the track distance in 15.64 seconds and led the runner up, Tyrur Hayes, by three lengths.
Making the most out of the second start too, Funworld Boy won over a 264 metres distance on 26th March at Monmore by reaching the other end of the wire in 15.68 seconds.
Leaping through the two lengths, Solid Impact finished the quickest and qualified as the runner up.
On 31st March came the chance that could have easily entitled Funworld Boy of a hat trick but his luck did not really stick to his side as he finished fourth in the Ladbrokes.Com 416 – Division 2 on 31st March at Monmore.
The race was won by the 7/4 favourite, Outbound Nessie, who managed the track distance in 24.88 seconds while leading by merely a head’s difference.
The runner up of the race was Lodgeview Rikijo who was soon followed by Redbrick Droopy.
Last time Funworld Boy lost, he resurfaced by winning the next race and this time too, the recent defeat will give him all the more reason for swinging back into form.
