Furbelow expected to prevail in Betfair Supporting Grassroots Racing Maiden Fillies´ Stakes
Furbelow is expected to prevail in the Betfair Supporting Grassroots Racing Maiden Fillies´ Stakes at Kempton in England on Monday, April 30, 2012. The winner of the class-5 event will bag a cash prize of £2,264.
The speed of all runners will be tested in the race, as they will have to cover an overall distance of 6 furlongs. Following are the entries confirmed for today: Furbelow, Catflap, Charity Box, Litmus, Cynthia Calhoun, Tenderly Place, Gull Rock, Mayo Miss,
Miss Noble, Perfect Policy, Allegra Byron and Mystical Witch. The going is expected to be standard in the race, which is scheduled to start at 15:45 GMT.
Most of the runners are inexperienced in this race, thus it will be difficult to predict the winner. However, the bookies have shown full faith in the abilities of Furbelow, who seems to be in decent shape.
Despite that, the punters might not place a lot of bets in favour of the three-year-old filly, who was unable to make an impression in her only outing until now. She entered that event with a starting price of 16 to 1 and was expected to fight for the top
three positions.
However, the Jeremy Noseda’s trainee was unable to deliver a strong result and she finished seventh overall. She will need a stronger effort in order to fight for victory at Kempton.
Furbelow will be partnered by seasoned jockey, Jimmy Fortune, who has won quite a few races at this level at a decent strike rate. He will be looking forward to another solid run today.
Looking at the statistics of Catflap, it appears that she might manage to attract a lot of bets in her favour today. She has entered a couple of races until now and managed to perform really well in them.
The three-year-old filly made her debut this year and she finished fourth in her first ever outing. She was up against some very good runners, thus her speed impressed one and all. She went onto improve her performance next time around and took the runners
up spot.
The Derek Haydn Jones’ trainee will be ridden by Nicky Mackay, who has been performing well recently.
