  1. www.kstdc.com

  2. You could try Shivajinagar as the other guy suggested. Central St and Infantry Rd have loads of furniture shops. You can get some really ugly stuff there and also some of that imported chipwood stuff and rubber wood stuff that's okay.

If you want something cheaper try going past that area and turn left or right after the Bus Station, there are shops around Russell Market where you can get wicker/cane furniture and also wrought iron stuff.

Also .. if you go further out to smaller areas of town you're more likely to get stuff cheaper .. e.g. Cooke Town, Adugodi etc. you might get better bargains. Unfortunately I don't know specific shops but I have seen both wrought-iron and cane stuff driving past  Adugodi to Koramangala (on Hosur Rd) and I've heard stuff is cheaper there.

You can also try furniture shops on 100 ft road in indiranagar but these might be expensive .. though you may get something nice and not expensive. Thar (just off the flyover on the left) has nice stuff (just don't buy the antiques they are definitely NOT cheap!). Another nice place that does reproductions of old style furniture is Artefacts, it's on Victoria Rd, .. if you're coming down from Airport Rd, you take the last left turn before Lifestyle and go all the way down this little 1st cross.

But for a straightforward dining table set I would recommend either the Central St or wicker or wrought iron options.

  3. Hi

there are a number of options

    1) you can go to a workshop and ask them to make you one in your budget. the positive side of this is that you can get one with the design in your mind.

    2) you can go to shivaji nagar and select from a wide range of shops there.

a completely wood (assam teak/ply wood ) will cost you atleast 12,000. A semi wood (with glass top) will cost you the same but the chairs will not have cushions. again a rubber wood dining table set will cost you 14,000 with cushioned chairs/glasstop.

SHIVAJI NAGAR IS THE PLACE FOR FURNITURE!! and that we realised during our recent search for them. they are really the  "value for money" kind.

one small piece of advise would be that you should see all the furniture in the place and then compare and contrast and then make the decision. you can barigain a few hundreds down... :)

hope you find the desirable one. all the best.
