Fushigi yugi Genbu kaiden?

do you think that fushigi yugi genbu kaiden is going to become a dvd and is genbu kaiden continued from the tv episodes of fushigi yugi and the ovas

Genbu Kaiden is a prequel to the original Fushigi Yugi. It's set in a different kingdom (but still in the world of the Four Gods), and the heroine, Takiko, is from early-1900s Japan (I think it's around 1919, but it may be a bit later than that) instead of more modern times.

Because it is set earlier, it does not feature the original FY characters like Miaka and Tamahome, so it's not a continuation.

I don't know if it will be animated, but I agree that it would be fun if it was. Genbu Kaiden is a very interesting series.

as what the previous 2 answerer said, its just a prequel of fushigi yuugi. we know that there are 4 gods-Suzaku, Seiryuu, Byakko & Genbu.

Miaka being the priestess of Suzaku

Yui being the priestess of Seiryuu

Suzuno being the priestess of Byakko

Takiko being the priestess of Genbu

On Fushigi Yuugi we caught a glimpse of Suzuno (during the time that they were looking for the shinzaho) & we know a little of their story. Suzuno & Tatara being in love before but cant be together.

Hence Genbu Kaiden is the story of the other priestess that we know so little of. Keisuke & Tetsuya was trying to find as much info as they can about her,but they only knew of how she was killed & all the little stuffs. This story is just a completion of the whole Fushigi Yuugi series, not leaving one story hanging. I think its great that Yuu Watase was able to complete this series.

I dont think that GK will be made into a series..at least not that the people know of.GK was made just this 2000-something..i think 2003...& FY was made like 10years ago. So if there would be anime for this one it might take up to years before it would be made.

Fushigi Yugi is a prequel to the TV series. It takes place before Fushigi Yugi, but was made after. So far, there has been no announcement of Fushigi Yugi becoming an anime. In my opinion though, Fushigi Yugi is way better than Genbu Kaiden.
