Question:

Futhering a Nursery Nurse career?

I'm working as a trainee nursery nurse, earning around £120 a week.

After I've trained, I'll be earning around minimum wage, which personally I don't think is very much, considering I'd be qualified.

I just wondered if anybody had any experience, with furthering a career once qualified, e.g. working in schools, hospitals, social services etc?

Any information would be greatly received, as I'd like to know weather it is survivable on this wage, when eventually, I'll want a family, house, and a horse?!

  1. it really depends what area you live and what you would like to be eventually. also from experience bigger company's pay more and also private nursery's pay more.

i am a room supervisor in a nursery and i have my own place and run a car. it depends if you would like to work your way up the ladder and if you are willing to put in some hard work to get there.

i started as unqualified like you and did all of my qualifications on the job so i could earn money while i learnt.

if you wanted to become a manager depending on the area you work in you could be looking at earning around 35 thousand a year.

there is money in nannying if you would prefer that once you are qualified thats something you could do, i would also advise that you get as many other qualifications as possible as it always looks good  and can sometimes help you to earn more money. courses such as first aid, any new development frameworks or changes that ofstead need you to have, food hygiene courses ect hope this helps you out and good luck with everything.

  2. i'm a educarer in a creche my wages are 350 euro. (minimum wage). we should be getting a lot more as we are qualified.

i love this job its so much fun
