Future Boy, the one with bright future
Future Boy remained winless for more than four months, after he started professional racing in last December. Many experts had predicted a dark future for the black dog, when he made his presence felt in May 2012.
After facing plenty of unlucky losses, the Griffin-trained was short on confidence. He somehow added the winning touch, and opened his account with a fascinating 5-length triumph on May 5th.
It was not a fluke. The rampant hound built on that, and captured the first rank another time in the same month. On May 11th, he made a very strong finish to beat Stallone Bart by one and a half lengths.
Since then, the son of Ninja Jamie, out of Expert Flash, has been doing a great job - although wins have not yet come to him as frequently as expected. After proving his mettle over 750 yards, the big fellow went to Harold’s Cross, where he marvellously
crushed the opposition in a 569 metres contest.
In October, the June-10 hound ran a couple of good races in defeat at Shelbourne Park. He did not run badly, but found White Soks Roks too strong on both occasions.
Future Boy did not lose determination after being beaten twice by the same opponent. He returned to the winning ways, when sent over 750 yards at Cork. On October 20th, the maverick hound showed good early pace, and eventually claimed the victory
by one and a half lengths.
He won his sole race last month. By making a fantastic solo run, the dashing hound gained good momentum, which he utilised on November 10th. In a 750 yards contest, Future Boy established his supremacy at the fifth bend, and stayed ahead after
that. With the help of a superb act, he scored by staggering seven lengths.
The ongoing month has proved to be a lucky one. Within the first seven days of December, he had grabbed a couple of brilliant wins. After beating Oneco Cool by three lengths, he carried forward his fabulous work to register fourth consecutive win on December
7th.
It is hard to term Future Boy as one of best in business. But he is surely a dangerous dog with a bright career ahead. It will be no surprise, if he upsets big rivals in the future.
