  1. The US dollar will carry on to depreciate in value, expect it, unless the US economy grows at a miraculous rate, which is unlikely.

The is another way, should North America join in a currency union (AMERO) which has been proposed and may be in the pipeline. At least then the growth rate for the three combined nation may stabilise the currency.

  2. The US dollar has traditionally lost its store of wealth since the existence of the Federal Reserve. Prices, in the long run, will always increase as long as the Federal Reserve continues to inflate. Now, the fate of the dollar rests on the Federal Reserve's action on interest rates (aka the printing of money). If it continues to inflate, the dollar will spiral downward and cause even more recessions or even a depression. If it does not alter the money supply anymore and leaves the money supply somewhat constant it will cause the economy to balance itself.

  3. Not in the near future, but yes in the future.  It all depends on inflation not just in the US but worldwide. The dollar is now tied to Chinese currency and there economy and regulation of their currency will have a vast impact on ours. This is just my two cents worth.
