Future of Fernando Torres in question again
Fernando Torres’ future is up for debate again following the sacking of Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez yesterday.
Barcelona are reportedly showing an interest in the Spanish star, and over the last few weeks they have expressed an interest. With Liverpool currently without a full-time manager, Barcelona are ready to make a move.
It all depends on whether Zlatan Ibrahimovic will leave the Camp Nou, and who will win the presidential elections at the club, with favourite Sandro Rosell possibly making a move for Torres.
Benitez brought Torres to Anfield from Atletico Madrid for £21million in 2007, and his sacking after a six-year reign could see Torres follow suit, even though the striker signed a new contract last summer.
However, Torres has not linked Benitez’s sacking to his future, insisting whether he stays at Anfield will depend on the ownership of the club and the future direction.
