Ok, so I'm pre-med going into med school. I don't want anybody telling me I might change my mind, because end of story is I'm not. I'm going to be a surgeon, and here's my dilemma. I want to be a neuro-surgeon, but I'm thinking of starting with cosmetic plastic surgery so I can have money to start my own private practice in neuro. I would also like to repay my parents and my brother for everything they've ever given me in my entire life by giving each of them something as a token of my appreciation. I really love my family and I am close to them, and I would love to repay them before it becomes too late in life. Do you think it would be ok to go into cosmetic plastic surgery to make money to repay debts and to give my family the one thing each of them has ever really wanted. Well, not is it ok, do you think it's a wise thing to even consider?

  1. No. No. No. Do a little research and find out exactly how long it takes to be a neuro-surgeon. It takes at least 8 years after med school so you are looking at graduating at around 34. If you want to be practicing neuro before you are 40 you should not go in to cosmetics first.

  2. You're going to make tons of money being a surgeon anyway, I don't think it maters which one you go into. I think they are both very good professions and since you go to UCLA, you could probably make some great money in plastic surgery because it's California. Aside from repaying back your family, which field do you think will interest you more?

BTW I love the idea of why you want the money. I'm going to school to become a Registered Nurse which makes some good money so I can repay my parents.
