Question:

Fuzzi Bunz? Gdiapers? Which Cloth diapering do you prefer?

I am newly pregnant, and i have always planned to cloth diaper for the environment as well as health benefits for my baby. I have been looking at 2 different brands Fuzzie Buns and Gdiapers, they both seem great. I like fuzzie buns because they seem a little more simple to take care of, as well as comfortable, and i like Gdiapers because my parents would prefer to not have to deal with cloth diapering when they have the baby over (since they cloth diapered with all of their kids, they are over it.) I dont want to make them uncomfortable. But the thing with the Gdiapers is each diaper is the same cost of a fuzzie bunz diaper and then the added cost of buying inserts is similar to buying disposable diapers, so your not really saving any money. They both have their cons, but i cant seem to find any ratings from people with personal experience. So here is what is important to me about a diaper:

*Safe and easy to use

*Sturdy

*Safes money in the long run

*Environmental Friendly

*Long lasting

  1. I used:

Bambino Mio but they were hard work and time consuming and the wraps leaked.

Littlelambs but they made my daughter clatty

    Totsbots also made her clatty.

Anything with a fleece wrap was cr@p, the fleece wasn't waterproof even although it was supposed to be.

Onelife nappies were the best for me by far.

  2. I use bumgenius pocket diapers. They are extremely easy to use: The diapers close with velcro closings just like disposables and don't get leaky the way old fashioned diapers do that need to be pinned with needles. For washing you just take out the little inserts that come with the diapers so they wash and dry quicker. I absolutely love them.

I don't know first hand how long they last, since baby is just 5 months old. But the concept is one diaper from 7 to 35 pounds. They come with little bottoms to make them fit different sizes of babies.

  3. I use Happy Heinies one size cloth diapers, they are pocket diapers and similar to the BumGenius type. So far we've found them to be excellent. They can be adjusted to fit 4 different sizes so can fit 7-35lbs, they also come with two sizes of absorbant insets which makes them excellent value for money. Personally I love the huge variety of colours they come in - makes diaper changing a little mor entertaining!

You can find loads of cloth diaper reviews on www.diaperpin.com I found them really useful.

  4. I'm hoping for some good answers on here since I'm about to embark on my own cloth diaper experience once the little one arrives in a few weeks :)

I'm trying out a few different styles, but I have the most confidence in bumgenius.  They are the one-size-fits-all pocket kind, so while they are pricy up front (about $18 a piece), they are supposed to last all the way from newborn to diaper training (7-35 lbs).  They also come with a standard soaker as well as an infant insert which can also be used as a doubler.  They have snaps for changing size, and velcro closures.  From what I've read, they are super popular and very much loved by many of the CD moms out there.  There is also an organic variety if you really want to be environmentally friendly!

I've got a couple already and they look to be extremely well made, are super soft, and the colors are adorable!
