Question:

Fuzzy/spikey bright yellow bugs infesting my zucchini plant!

They appear to be making the leaves lacy and the stems wilty on my previously happy zucchini squash. They didn't affect the fruit growing. I have no idea what these are! I physically removed as many of them as I could. Does anyone know what these bugs are and how to get rid of them? I appreciate it!

  1. Are they kinda soft? They sound like "Mexican Bean Beetle" larvae, you can try spraying them with something called Neem, or the first thing I would do is to get a sprayer, fill it with very soapy water, and spray them, this usually helps for a few days, but the actual beetle lays its eggs on the underside of leaves, and if you have a large garden they could hatch at different times, so respraying would be necessary.

I can't figure out how to link to a page with a pic here, but you can google Mexican Bean Beetle Larvae, and then hit 'images' at the top of the screen and see if that is what they are.

    Hope I helped!
