Any tips?

My appointment is next Wednesday.

I know to check mirrors every 3-5 seconds, perform obvious shoulder checks... what else do they look for?

Thanks so much.

  1. Watch for speed limit changes on the roads.  They will purposely take you on roads where it changes.

Make sure you signal in advance of changing lanes, and do not cancel your signal until your entire vehicle has moved into the lane you're moving to.

  2. Keep both hands on the steering wheel at all times.  The examiners notice that.  Also, make sure you're proficient at parallel parking and three-point turns.

It's natural to be nervous but try to remain calm and enjoy the experience.  It's easier to pass if you're not worried about every potential mistake.
