I filed for child support 3 years ago with georgia child support enforcement but because the non custodial parent lives in mississippi they have to work with the case worker from that state and all i ever get is that they are either not responding (that state) or can't locate the father now i have given them all the information on the father which by now i know he may have moved but the job remains the same what else can I do to get him located. get hime served, get a court order because child support enforcement is no help and i cant afford a lawyer does anyone have any suggestions????

  1. I would assume you'd get further if you had a lawyer.  I don't know what to tell you, lawyers try harder to pursue the dad because they are getting paid for it.  I feel for you because I am pregnant and the baby's dad lives in a different state, and I'm afraid they wont be able to find him either, because he rarely speaks to me so I have no idea where he'll be in 3 months when I have this baby.  I'm not sure what your laws are and it really sucks they aren't pursuing him more.  I know once a child support case is established, usually if he doesn't pay it they will find him, and throw him in jail for not paying... (happened to my ex)...  I suck with advice on this topic because I'm as lost as you in what I'm going to do.  You can email me if you like though, just to get things off your chest.
