  1. I think adoption is a great choice.  I know the adoptive parents of my son are as happy as can be.  I personally feel that it is more loving to adopt a child already in need of a home than bring a new one into the world.  Then again, some people have a need to bring a child into the world themselves.  I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever choice you make.

  2. adoption is good for a quick child....but have a surrogate parent is better because you would want the child to be a part of you and look like one of you.

  3. As long as the adopters are providing a loving, secure home, there should be no problems, surely this is better than been in the system, until they are so old that noone wants to adopt them!

This type of question belongs in the dark ages!

  4. Advantages to who? the parent? or the child?

I can't figure out if you're looking for what will work best for you & your partner, or if you're thinking about how your child's going to feel about it when he/she is older.

  5. Advantages to surrogacy/ donor sperm:

One partner can be the genetic parent of the child, thereby there is no need to involve the courts, unless the second partner wishes to try to do a step-parent adoption.

    Disadvantage:

    Expense!

    Advantages to adoption:

There is the possibility of adopting and older child (no diapers or midnight feedings)

    Disadvantages to adoption:

there is a great deal of prejudice in the system, you could draw a SW or judge who doesn't believe in g*y adoption.

  6. I have no source other than common sense.

If you choose surrogacy, one of you will be the biological parent of the child, and the other will not.   What happens if you eventually end the relationship?   Will the one who is the biological parent think they have more rights to the child?

I know several g*y couples who have adopted, and could not be happier.   There are birthmothers who specifically choose g*y couples to parent their child.  Also, the foster care system generally has no objection to g*y parents.

  7. this is the third time you've asked this! get it over already. some people agree with g*y adoption. some don't. each to their own.

    get a life.
