Question:

GCSE Maths Revision??!!?

by  |  earlier

It's my Year 10 summer holidays and while everyone else is having a good time, my parents are making me revise for Maths, as I have a mock in December, and then the real exam next year.

Has anyone just taken the GCSE Maths paper and can help me with revision? Does anyone know any good GCSE Maths revision sites for me to use, or any good tips?

Thanks xx

  1. Omg, i hated maths so much.

I sat my maths exam in nov 06 - seems ages ago!

Ermm, all you can do is revise through books, thats what i done.

Use GCSE bitesize, that helped me.

And although i only revised the night before and i was absolutely balls at maths i got a C :D

    Good Luck, its acheiveable! x

  2. try emaths.co.uk and go to the students section. Also what exam board are you entered for as they have past papers on line to download.

  3. bbc bitesize have a good revision site. They also cover other subjects.

  4. same... my parents are making me revise as well.

It depends on what board you are doing. Type your exam board in google and also type: mathematics past papers.

    Hope this helps =)

  5. Don't be upset that you have to revise, trust me, you will be happy that you did and that you aren't going to have to cram in April and May next year. I wish I had that pressure to keep srudying. But yea, the best way to practice is through past papers. The exam boards usually have them on thier websites. Get some really good text books and really just practice NON-stop! You can have a good time this time next year when you are waiting for those dreaded results. Everytime i think of it, my heart drops. =|

    Good luck n salaam =)

  7. Go to this site:

    http://www.cimt.plymouth.ac.uk/projects/...

They have online rextbooks and exercises.  Bitesize is OK, but not very helpful if you really don't understand something.  The Plymouth site is excellent.

  8. I got the book from my school that they work on for the entire year as I was in the same position as you. If you start looking at the topics that come up in the gsce and working through some exercises, you'll find that when it comes to learning it in class, you would have already aced it. Try some of the harder topics such as algebraic fractions, trigonometry, sin cos tan graphs and vectors which would have not come up previously. You'll find that going over these topics quite a few times will help when it comes to doing it in class. These topics are also work the most marks, as well as harder simultaneous fractions. Do some practise past papers too, but don't be upset if you can't do them just yet or don't do well in them. I was like this at first but I ended up getting an A in gsce maths. I find that teaching myself and looking at examples helps more than having someone try to teach me a particular topic. Just do lots of examples from books. Invest in some good ones from WHSmith-they have some good ones.
