  1. you have chosen too may languages, trust me i picked my options 3 years ago the only language i took was french and i still got confused, never mind taking all of those, however just from impressions id say latin would be most difficult because its ancient and a dead language

  2. I personally think languages are the hardest and you may get confused. Easiest I think are english and science.

  3. Well... I don't know which type of school you go to...maybe a private school...but anyways the fact that you are taking french, latin, greek, and italian is quite extraordinary.....(I dropped German because I kept mixing it up with Spanish) but you must be good at languages!!!!

Anyway RE and ICT aren't hard at all and as for English, Maths and Science it depends on who you are and whether you are most creative(better at English) or logical (better at maths and science)

Good Luck with you studies!! :D

  4. Well i chose similar subjects so heres some tips, depending on how long you have done greek and french they could be the hardest but some people have a flare for languages. It depends what you are good at. My advice would be dont spend your time worrying everyone does at first but if you find something hard just put your head down and work hard at it. GOOD LUCK!!

  5. English- most people get an A* in eng. lang, eng. lit is hard (but you don't have a choice)

Double award science- yes, its easy, don't worry about it. All the hard stuff is in triple award (but double award is still considered more or less the same standard)

french-easiest gcse i did, did it 1 year early

latin-easy for people good at latin. If you're good you'll find it a breeze, little revision, and you'll go through the exam in half the time. I found i didn't need to do revision really for it, it came natural. But i'd be wary of this topic, some people find it really hard (it's considered a hard gcse)

greek- difficult but it looks like you'd probably ace it

italian- not a subject a lot of people take, be careful you might be up against  half-italians. Also don't do too many languages, you'll get confused (hence personally i wouldnt take this subject)

ict-useful, i dont have experience but i think most people find this easy

re- supposed to be the most interesting gcse, however its hard with lots of essay writing.

I go to a private school too, and generally private schools do a lot better at GCSEs. I mean i got 9A*s with very little revision. I would maybe replace italian with history, it's hard but interesting and once you master the technique of writing in a certain way, its in the bag. Re also is hard, i might take geography, usually quite easy, safe bet.

Maths also by the way is very easy at GCSE.

A piece of advice, art gcse and drama gcse are very hard to get A*s. They might be fun, but be careful. Something like french is more safe as you will be competing with state schools who know a lot less french than you.

I did: french, maths, science, geog, hist, latin, english lit+lang

    Good luck

  6. There is no hardest or easiest, it depends on what you like to study, although i do think you might have chosen too many languages, its hard enough learning one language at once, never mind 4.

I myself did 2 at GCSE and that gave enough confusion

  7. i'd probably say that languages are the hardest because you need to be able to speak them, write them and understand them..

art is surprisingly hard with all the hours you need to put in and ICT is just time consuming because of the coursework...

I'm going into year 11 and believe me i wish i'd taken yr 10 more seiously. don't muck about with your classmates as i did because it certainly didn't do me any favours... x

  8. According to a list I found on a university (Durham??) website, which no longer exists. Latin is supposed to be the most difficult in that it is as hard to get a C in Latin as it is an A in several other subjects.  However, do not give up on the Latin!!  It is a great subject and looks good on CVs etc.  Personally I don't think it is that hard as it is made out to be.  Greek was not mentioned (do you mean modern or classical Greek?) but I found class. Greek harder than Latin.  I would think that IT is probably the easiest.  The grade boundaries have been lowered for science so that should not bee too difficult.

    Good luck!

  9. if you're good at english then it's easy because it comes naturally, if you're not you'll probably find it a struggle. english lit is very much the same

maths was one i always found hard, but probably because i didn't bother with it that much, if you pay attention and do the work i'm sure it'll be fine

I'm not sure about double science, i did triple, triple was quite hard, but if you put in the work it's worth it in the end

french for me would be v. hard, because i'm c**p at languages and wouldn't bother, i'd fail it, but i know most of my friends who did it found it hard

latin and greek same as above. latin is a dead language, i wouldn't be wasting my time. why are you doing so many languages btw? there really are better subjects to study, at least a variation anyway

italian i'd find fairly easy because i have been on holiday there a fair few times and made the effort to learn the language whilst being there

ict is a doss, do the work, simple as

re... why bother turning up? lol

but to be honest, how difficult you find certain subjects is mostly down to how clever you are and your stronger points

  10. Isn't English language a compulsory subject anymore? It would appear not judging by the standard of English I encounter here!

'Hard GCSE' is an oxymoron - there is no such thing! I could have done GCSE maths when I was about 6 or 7. Kids these days don't know they're born! I bet if I gave you one of my old O-Level maths papers, the only question you'd get right is your name! O-Level maths was harder than today's A-Level! That's how much standards have slipped in the past 25 years!

  11. english will be ok considering you put a full effort into the courseworks.

maths will be ok considering you have a decent teacher.

science is probably equally as difficult as maths (in my opinion)

french is horrendous, (i found it ok, but most people didnt.)

i dont know about the other 3 languages.

english lit os alright, considering you put the effort into the cousework yet again.

    Ict....well lets not got there,

    and RE is easy

(these are just my opinions since i just finished year 11)

    gemma, x*x

  12. 1. If you want to get into a good university, DON'T pick the easy ones.

I would do separate sciences, not double award. Universities prefer this.

Languages are good. Greek and Latin more so than English, which is a 'softer' subject. Any other foreign language is good.

    Maths is also good.

Start to study your Latin here:

    http://latinum.mypodcast.com

You will find all the gcse latin vocab here as an audio file, so you can start to memorise it. Also, assistance with memorising verb tables etc.

  13. our school only lets us do one language!! wow do you want to be as translator, it pays a lot!!

ICT and RE are easy peasy

    english maths science, theyre ok

and i did spanish, art geography, biology, chemistry, physics, business studies, b ut you havnt chosen those so i cant help you with the rest

  14. RE is very easy. You don't have any course-work so you spend the whole time preparing just for the exam, you can't fail! Greek is quite difficult, i did mine off-time table so it was hard work and getting up early in the morninng, i don't know if you're doing yours on or off but greek is still hard, good luck to you. French and italian are very much the same difficulty, they require concentration and you need to work quite hard but they're not too difficult, especially as they share some pretty similar words and grammar, you should be OK. I didn't take IT so i don't know how difficultit will be, but if you work hard and concentrate it can't go too wrong. English lit. isn't bad, you should be OK, its quite easy, you won't struggle much. And practically everyone in the country is taking english and it is fine, not too difficult.
