Right just got my GCSE results and I'm over the moon, couldnt ask for better grades. One of my friends however didn't get the grades he expected and he rang me about 10 minutes ago in tears telling me that his Dad had hit him and said he'd 'shamed the family'. He asked if he could come over to mine, and I said yeah, but what should I do? I feel terrible for him. Plus his Dads going to be even more fuming that hes sneaked over to my house.

  1. be there

hang out, talk c**p - go out to the movies or whatever

why do you think your it then?????

  2. The only thing you can do is be there for him and support him.. It's never easy for parents to see their kids not achieve at their standard, but however, there is no reason for a parent to be like that.. Being angry at him is not going to change his results, it's only going to make him feel even worse.. If your friend worked hard and he knows, then he is happy, but his family obviously brings him down..

The best thing you can do is be there for him and give him much support.. My friend failed all his GCSEs whilst i got A* and A's.. I told him i was going to treat him to the cinemas next week to make him feel better.. Your friend's parents need to understand him. If your friend was happy with the grade's he has got then that is what matters, not what his parents want.

    Good luck. =)
