GDP (PPP) or Real GDP??

Question

Hi! I'd like to compare all LAC GDP and i don't know if i should use Real GDP or GDP PPP. I would have used GDP in current prices but it is not in US dollars in WEO data (i could convert it...) which indicator should i use? thanks!!!!

If you get GDP at PPP it will give the best comparison. If you have real gdp figures of different countries for successive years you can use gdp growth rates. The first comparisoon is about how different contries people rank in terms of average standard of living, while the real gdp growth rates will help find out which countries are growing faster or slower than others.
