What is GDP per capita used for? (what does it determines and show about a country?)

  1. gdp per capita enables "apples to apples" comparison of productivity across countries of different sizes. Large countries will obviously have a much higer GDP than small ones, but when divided by population it provides a meaningful comparison


  2. GDP is a measurement of production.  Is a countries production increasing or decreasing?  It tells how one countries GDP compares to another countries GDP.
