I Bought the fridge in early summer 2005. Serial number GH239394.
The water stopped dispensing recently. The ice maker is working. All other systems on the fridge work just fine (i.e. I've almost ruled out a faulty motherboard)
I disconnected the line which exits the valve body, and the water flows out of the valve when I activate the switch. I.e. the valve is working.
I then disconnected the line right before the upturn into the freezer door -- at this point, the water has already exited the cooling loops in the fridge; the water flows freely at this point as well, which rules out ice or air bubbles.
So the blockage is somewhere between the door up-tube and the dispensing nozzle.
My top guess now is that the up-turn tube got pinched or bent somehow, but I cannot see any visible damage to the tube. I'm at a loss as to how to remove this part to give it a full inspection.
My other guesses are (a) a section of the tube in the freezer door has iced up (is this possible?) and (b) that sediment has somehow gotten lodged in the tube (which I rule out because I've always used a filter which I've replaced a couple of times); and (c) there's some other unknown in route through the freezer door.
Thanks in advance,
