My GE fridge's top freezer only gets cold now in on corner of the freezer where the wires and tubes connect up to it. I thought it was due to something being frozen and causing a blockage, so I left it off for over a week in my shop with heat and the doors open. I even put pots of hot water in the freezer but it is still the same. I have look up the various parts for the fridge and I'm pretty handy, I just dont have knowledge of the refrigerator systems.. seems like a waste to toss, but it is at least 10 years old. I see used refrigerators on Craig's list for around $100 but that is always a gamble. is this worth fixing, should I try for another used one.. got this one used, or buy new... its a small frigerator in my workshop. I recently read about cleaning coils, something I have never done and the shop is dusty and the shop only has heat and ac when I use it... I'm in Raleigh NC. thanks for any help or advice you can provide.
