Question:

GE washing machine problem...sort of....?

I have a GE washing machine. it's about 4 years old.

here's what the machine is(isn't) doing...

clothes go in...machine fills(it looks like it fills

a bit too much for the largest load)

agitates normally.

drains fine.

doesn't spin, it sounds like it's continuing

to try to drain through the spin cycle.

then it goes right to the next agitate cycle without

filling up again.

BUT...if I turn it off and let it set about 10 mins. or so,

turn it back on, it'll spin and then fill/agitate normally again.

can anyone give me a idea of what might be wrong.

I'd like to be able to fix it myself if it's not too hard.

Thanks

  1. The water level sensor is failing you will need a repairman

  2. The model number is on the top of the machine near the timer, call a appliance part store and ask from a water level switch, it should be around $20.00 dollars. It is a piece of cake to change. If you have a place in your area called Marcone I know they stock it 1-888-393-1452
