GED Vs. Homeschool Diploma

I've been homeschooled ever since I was 6, but because of some troubles I had to quit at 15 during the eleven grade. Now 3 1/2 years later I'm looking to finish what I started. However I have heard from some people that a GED is just as good as a Diploma, while others have said that there's a bad stigma for those who have a GED.(I for one respect those who do.) While I know that a Homeschool Diploma is the same as a Public High School Diploma, still what level of substance those a GED hold when compared to the Diplomas?

  1. Its alot stronger then a GED.  Because, you can get a GED in 6 hours, but you cant get a dimploma unless you pass all the classes.  It also shows your grades.  This allows colleges and universities to allow you to start college in the major of your choice if you have A's in the proper classes.  It also shows that you know alot more then some people with a GED.  This is because some people just barely pass to get the GED.  So, everybody with a GED is looked at in the same light.  And that is, some of them dont know much if anything at all.

  2. It kind of depends on what kind of job opportunities you are looking for.  Technically they both count as the same, but some people that are  hiring may prefer a high school diploma.  If you have a lot to offer and are willing to work hard, an employer should be able to "look past" how you graduated.  The important thing is that you have something!  It is very difficult to finish school after you have stopped.  Congratulations on willing to take the time to better yourself!  As an employer myself that right there shows character of a person.  Good luck!

  3. I got a GED. I have a great job. I make great money. I didn't waste any money going to college either!

  4. Homeschool diploma is better because GED are for people that can't finish high school. GED is lower than a high school diploma
