  1. its a general equivalency diploma. You can still get into most colleges with it. I'm not sure about home schooling. But you can go just as far with it just make sure you take ur SAT's if you want to go to a different college than community. You will be just fine don't let it get you down!

    Good luck

  2. The GED is the officially recognized exam for those who don't graduate high school. Every job application will ask you if you have a high school diploma or a GED. If you plan on joining the military, going to college/university, or getting a job you need it. It is not a difficult exam, especially for homeschoolers. The only part I had difficulty with was the essay part, not because I can't write an essay but because the subject of the question didn't apply in my life. For instance, how would you answer a question like "how did you deal with bullies at school, and how do you think the school authorities could have been more effective"? Other than "my mother should have put my sister in the corner whenever my sister hit me so she would stop and I wouldn't have had to hit her back" that could be difficult.  So just register at your local community college to take the test, and you will do fine. Just prepare how you will answer an irrelevent essay question :)
