A very average show when I first came to the U.S.A. as a boy. The larger than life portrayal done by this character was very important, not because he could do it, but because we in audience couldn't. The character's uncanny abilities served as both a source of envy and aspiration.
Radical feminism ensures that these type of series are not made again. If every program's male heroes were larger than life, it is doubtful we would enjoy them. Television during the last 10 or 12 years has put countless women into unrealistic roles and most shows have also become symposiums for the exposing of and acclimatization to blood, gore and crime.
Perhaps T.V. at least will return to normalcy, where men have greater power over women as has been the order of things throughout history. Not because of misogyny, but because of practicality. Thoughts?
